Facebook, the most downloaded app in 2014 Mobile App Download Report
The top four most downloaded apps for both iOS and Android in 2014 are all owned by Facebook. A recent report on app trends shows that the original Facebook app, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram are dominating mobile usage. Facebook’s performance suggests their multiple-app mobile strategy is working.
Google starting to show mobile friendly sites higher in ranking
Google is warning that non-mobile friendly sites will rank lower for mobile users and has announced mobile-friendly criteria as a ranking criteria. Developers can see mobile usability errors in their Google Webmaster Tools and use Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test Tool to identify any issues that will negatively affect mobile rankings.
