Microsoft launches PowerBI for iPad and iPhone

Microsoft started offering its free BI tool, PowerBI, a business data analytics tool to create visual dashboard and BI reports from a variety of data sources. Now Microsoft has continued its commitment to offer software tools for other platforms by releasing an iPhone and iPad app on the US App Store. The app offers an easy, intuitive, touch optimized experience for monitoring your business data on your iPad or iPhone.

Samsung buys LoopPay for entry into mobile payments

Samsung may have played a masterstroke by buying LoopPay to enter into the mobile payments market. LoopPay’s technology will soon be built into upcoming Samsung smartphones, most likely starting with the upcoming Galaxy S6. LoopPay’s has a wider access to already installed base of card readers which support magnetic-stripe cards and could make it easier for retailers to start accepting mobile payments.

Facebook introduces React Native, a new way to write native mobile apps

Facebook introduced React Native, based on the React.js library for creating native mobile apps. React Native uses JavaScriptCore in iOS to run JavaScript, with Android support coming up shortly.
